History:

 
In the late 1950's the members of Silver Star Saddle Club wanted a place for people to enjoy some time with their horses. SSSC first started doing games and trail rides, and than eventually started to have horse shows.

Originally, the  first ring that the club used  was in town at the Greencastle ballfield, and later everything was moved to Wilbur (Web) Sellers Farm. At the farm  a riding ring was built so that jousting tournaments could be held. Shortly there after, a group of people bought the property on McDowell Road that we now know to be Silver Star Saddle Club in order for horse shows to be held at a permanent location. 

In the late 1960's many members of the club joined the MD-Pennsylvania Circuit. Those members include: Bill Robinson, Henry Pittman, Paul Secrist, Charles Lindsey, Clyde Bricker, Charlie Miller, Jack Oberhalzer, Blane Kerlin, George Pittman, Ken Beminstaffar, and John Courtney. 

Here we are now on the same piece of property growing stronger than ever. Our grounds now include an outdoor ring, concession stand, picnic area, an announcer stand, and plenty of room for horse trailers. We hold three shows per year and we have started to hold trail rides to make our club  family oriented. Silver Star has come a long way since the 1950's.
